Sewer Cleaning in New Orleans

Recurring Sewer Backups? Get Clear Answers Before We Start Cleaning.

When toilets, tubs, and sinks back up at the same time, the problem may be in the main sewer line rather than a single fixture drain. Recurring clogs, foul odors, gurgling sounds, and wastewater returning through low drains also warrant a closer look. We assess the line before recommending the right approach to residential sewer cleaning.

At Saia Plumbing Inc., we use sewer inspection cameras and hot water hydrojetting equipment to address difficult drain and sewer problems. Older cast-iron and clay pipes can develop buildup, root intrusion, or deterioration, so we consider the line’s condition before selecting a cleaning method.

Signs Your Main Sewer Line Needs Attention

A single slow sink may have a localized clog. When several fixtures develop problems at once, the obstruction is often farther along the drainage system.

Arrange a professional assessment if you notice:

  • Toilets, tubs, or sinks backing up at the same time.
  • Wastewater appearing in a shower, tub, or other low drain.
  • Gurgling sounds when water drains or a toilet flushes.
  • Sewage odors coming from drains or plumbing fixtures.
  • Blockages returning after basic drain clearing.

How We Inspect & Clear Your Sewer Line

We begin by reviewing the symptoms and plumbing layout to narrow down the blockage’s location and likely cause. This assessment helps us choose equipment suited to the pipe, access point, and obstruction rather than applying the same method to every line.

A service visit may include:

  • Locating the problem: We determine whether the issue involves one fixture, a branch drain, or the main sewer line.
  • Inspecting the pipe: A sewer camera inspection can identify the blockage location and reveal visible pipe conditions, especially when a clog keeps returning.
  • Clearing the obstruction: We may use drain snaking or augering for a targeted blockage. Hot water hydrojetting may be appropriate when buildup coats the pipe walls.
  • Checking the work: After completing the service, we test the plumbing and clean the work area.

Cleaning can restore flow when buildup or an obstruction is causing the problem. If the inspection reveals a cracked, collapsed, or severely deteriorated pipe, we’ll explain why sewer line repair or replacement may need to be considered separately.

Sewer Cleanouts & Hot Water Hydrojetting

A sewer cleanout provides access for inspecting and clearing the building sewer line. Its location and accessibility help determine which tools are practical, so we evaluate the available access before choosing a cleaning approach.

Hydrojetting uses pressurized water to remove grease, sludge, scale, and other buildup from inside a pipe. Although we offer hot water hydrojetting, we don’t recommend it automatically. We first consider the pipe’s material, condition, configuration, and any visible damage.

If an obstruction or damaged section appears to extend beneath concrete, our under-slab repair background helps us evaluate what comes next. We’ll distinguish between a line that needs cleaning and a structural pipe problem that cleaning alone can’t correct.
